Imagine building a house without a blueprint. Would the project go smoothly? Would the carpenters be coordinated with the plumbers, who would then know exactly when to bring the electricians in?
Of course not, it would be a mess.
While this seems like common sense, most individuals do not apply that same common sense to their financial house. They go through life with no plan, owning a bunch of uncoordinated investments with the hope that it all just works out.
Some of the benefits of a solid financial plan are:
- More on track with their financial goals and retirement plans
- Improved ability to save
- Confidence that they can deal with financial challenges in life
- Better able to indulge in their discretionary spending goals
